Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) Program
A Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) is a contracted staff hired by an installation to support its energy and resource efficiency program. The REM's primary focus is to bring about reductions in the cost of energy, water, natural gas, fuel oil, refuse disposal, and any other utilities and energy/water-related operations. Historically, the cost savings to an installation identified by an REM have substantially more then offset the cost of contracting for an REM.
Currently, REMs in the Army are in place at Fort Lewis, Fort Polk, Fort Campbell, Sunny Point, Picatinny Arsenal, and Fort Sill.
